How to read the costs

These are published tariff components, not a complete flight quotation. Rates depend on aircraft weight or size, stand type, passengers, noise classification and time on the ground. Open the billing conditions beside each rate before comparing airports.

Amounts remain in their original currencies. A fee not captured here does not mean that service is free. Provisional rates and incomplete rules carry a written review label.

How aircraft weight changes a charge

This page shows the published tariff rules. Use the separate Airport Cost Calculator to estimate a visit from aircraft weight, passengers and parking time. Use the certified weight basis specified by each source, rather than the actual weight on the day.

Rate per tonne: multiply the applicable rate by the billable weight and apply the stated minimum. Round weight up only where the tariff says “per tonne or part” or “commenced tonne”.
Whole-weight bands: select the aircraft’s weight band, then apply its rate to the whole billable weight where specified. Auckland’s discounted landing schedule uses this approach.
Progressive bands: apply the fixed amount at a threshold, then charge only the weight above it. Changi’s landing schedule uses maximum taxi weight, rounded up to a whole tonne, and a minimum charge.
Fixed plus variable: include the fixed component as well as the per-tonne amount. Paris-CDG and Paris-Orly then apply the relevant noise coefficient.
Other billing bases: parking can depend on aircraft size, stand type, duration and free periods. Changi uses aircraft footprint; Heathrow uses narrow-body or wide-body categories.

For example, Madrid’s base landing charge for 70 tonnes is 70 × €9.741122 = €681.88, above its €176.57 minimum. The separate aerodrome-service charge, noise adjustments and border surcharge are additional. Consult the Madrid tariff breakdown for the applicable conditions. Weight bands are alternative rules for a charge; do not add all bands together.

Coverage, taxes and definitions

The initial extract covers selected charges at 14 airports. It includes rates, minima, surcharges, multipliers, rebates and tariff amendments. These entries should not all be added together: apply only the relevant bands and conditions. Private airline agreements and third-party handling or fuel prices are outside this extract.

MTOW means maximum take-off weight. MCTOW means maximum certified take-off weight. Changi landing uses maximum taxi weight. Tax treatment is recorded in each rate’s billing conditions. Source publication dates, tariff effective dates and the date checked can differ.
